Large Event Fundraising

Charity Workshop

Helping Charities Work Together.

Bikers for a Cause

Motorcycle rallies are very effective ways to raise money and to get your cause known.  Most biker bars will sponsor the event for free.  Do a poker run, bbq dinner, and silent auction.  You can bring in $5,000 to $10,000 with a little work.

Galas

Galas are very popular.  You can count on a minimum of $5,000 with a well thought dinner.

Golf Tournaments

Golf is very popular.  Did you know that the golf course will do most of the work at the course?  You just have to find players and get corporate sponsors.

Most smaller organizations go wrong with spending a lot of time on small dollar events.  With a little planning and effort, you can put together an even that can raise $5,000 + at a time.  Why waste your money on smaller events.  Put a little more effort into it and make 50 times the money!  Click on the title line to view a whitepaper on how to coordinate each event.

First thing in major fundraising, you need to be able to take credit cards.  Every small charity I have worked with pushed against taking credit cards.  If you do major fundraisers, you will have to take them or the event will not be as profitable.  Once the groups started taking credit cards, we began monthly giving campaigns.  One group is already getting in over $500 a month in recurring donations, so the credit card account is definitely paying for itself!

You don’t even necessarily need a terminal.  Call me for options and we can get the right account for you at a minimal fee.  (713) 822-4368.

Not a Gala

Some charities are sending out invitations for a “Not a Gala.”  The premise to this is to show donors how much money they are saving by not having to buy nice closes, fix hair, shop a silent auction, etc.  Instead, they can just mail their donation into the charity.

Raffles

Raffles are tricky but very profitable.  They are considered gambling so non profits are limited to the number of raffles they can hold per year and there are certain things that must be physically printed on the raffle tickets.

This guy has awesome ideas on how to increase profits on a raffle and great prices on tickets.
